A Promotion?
I just heard on the radio that a funeral home in Rome (Georgia?) was running a special promotion (for lack of a better word). If you planned to drink and drive on New Year's Eve (and Day?) you could come in and sign a statement as such. Then, if you die driving the funeral home will cover the funeral costs. WHAT? The funeral home said it is trying to raise awareness on drinking and driving. WHAT? Who was the marketing genius behind this one?

New Year Resolutions and Such
So, I am not a big fan of New Year's resolutions, but that has never stopped me from making them (and less than 5 days later breaking them). This entire year has been a year of resolutions and changes and I am planning to continue that in the New Year. Some of my resolutions are more like 'bucket list' kinda things, but most are traditional resolutions.
1. Run a 1/2 Marathon (March 21st, ING in Altanta and tentatively the Holy Half on April 11th in South Bend)
2. Early to Rise and to bed at a reasonable time - I want to start doing my exercising in the mornings (as well as my devotions) which allows for my running training in the evenings (as opposed to 10:30/11:00 at night)
3. READ! - I want to read much more and I started this already this year (some suggestions I might use: http://www.daveramsey.com/store/Daves-Library/cDavesLibrary-p1.html)
4. Devotions - I want to get more regular and committed
5. Health & Fitness - in addition to my 1/2 marathon, I want to lose an additional 10+ lbs., lower my body fat, increase my lean mass, eat right (the right foods @ the right times and eliminate the bad stuff)
6. Kick the Caffeine habit
7. Stretch - I want to stretch myself in ministry and in my personal spiritual walk this year and open myself to new challenges and opportunities
8. Go GREEN - I want to continue to use CA$H and further eliminate my 'debt footprint'
